Vili Vutsov erupted: CSKA fans are 50% less than Levski –…Vili Vutsov erupted: CSKA fans are 50% less than Levski –…

first_imgThe former coach of Levski, Slavia and Botev Plovdiv Velislav Vutsov made an interesting statement about what is happening in the club from “Gerena”. He told a curious incident related to the former midfielder of the “blues” Georgi Kostadinov, which he added was signed to be true. In addition, Ivan Vutsov’s son asked why the Blue Bulgaria Trust owns 10% of Levski’s shares. Willy added that according to him, CSKA has about 50% fewer fans than the “blues”.“I want to look a little further than look back. In recent years, a lot of things in Levski have been shrouded in fog and not clear. The club’s policy has been distorted – foreigners are taken, who leads them, how they come, a lot of ambiguity. Levski was almost clean when Todor Batkov retired. The shares have no value, they are given here and there. A woman Diana appeared some time ago, talking some nonsense to the fans “What it was like – it was not understood,” Vutsov said., Georgi Dimitrov “What is the value of these 86.6% of the shares? Where does the Blue Bulgaria Trust have 10% of the shares of Levski? These are 27 people, not all fans. Why should the fans not have 20%, but there should be transparency. “It was unclear where the funding in Levski came from after Todor Batkov. Nasko Sirakov is the most suitable figure for Levski, without offending the others,” he asked.“Emil Spasov still plays for the veterans, he is in shape. In 10 years we have to look for Nar and call him to play for the veterans of Levski. The authenticity of the club has been lost. I was a 10-year-old pickpocket, walking down the street in the Hadji Dimitar neighborhood. “I meet Emo Spasov and I want to touch him. This is Emo Spasov! Now who can you touch?”, Georgi Dimitrov “Levski is not an object, it is not a person to be saved. Levski was created to make people happy. In recent years, we only talk about shares, about the joint-stock company.” Fans “is an expansive concept, there was a fan split, many people from these fans show up, get involved in something, give an opinion. This is not right! CSKA is also a grand of Bulgaria.Yes, it is 50 years behind us, they are probably 50% less than us in terms of quantity fans, but they still have a lot of fans “, the coach analyzes.“Two years ago, Spas Rusev threw the shares, there were fictitious meetings and no one was startled by this thing. Vasil Bozhkov had excellent management, no problems were heard, there may have been wrong things, but old debts began to be cleared. The problem in Levski is the demolition of sector “A. Let’s take the cards and say it to ourselves. We demolished sector” A “, we took loans, this pressed the club. If then there was a Board of Directors with shareholders, they would ask how much money this will be done sector “.“Only with fans, only with donations will not happen. When Bozhkov was in the club until the New Year, the team played in one way, then in the spring the game was different. Democracy is at the locker room door, so said my father. Let there be clear shareholders and to have a clear financial director. Gerena has legends about who came how and who brought him. You rub your eyes and wonder if you are dreaming, “he added to BNT., Georgi Dimitrov The contract of the national team player Georgi Kostadinov with the club ends, he goes to re-sign and Diana Ivanova told him: “Yesterday I watched you, you were not so good and I will not sign your contract”. And he got along with Daniel Borimirov. And he didn’t sign and left. This is not a legend, it’s a real story, I sign under it. Vasil Bozhkov managed Levski well and successfully, I am not his lawyer, I just say. When the problems came, he started talking not to the club’s legends, but to the fans. We pushed for many years on this wrong path.I do not believe in bankruptcy. Not everyone can own Levski, Nasko Sirakov can temporarily own the shares, but he does not have the funds for Levski, which is not shameful – he worked differently. Levski’s main shareholder in Bulgaria can be 4-5 people. Vasil Bozhkov also entered the club with a holding company.A successful option is Ludogorets, where Kiril Domuschiev is and everyone listens to him. The strong years in Levski were when Michael Chorny and Batkov were. Then came the tale of “many grandmothers, skinny baby.”Now the knife is in the bone. God forbid we take the Cup of Bulgaria, this will show that the highway is caught. I do not want to give wisdom to Petar Hubchev, he is an extremely good coach. We all have to be behind the team, behind the coach. We need transparency, I hope the wind comes and the fog blows, “Vutsov said.last_img read more

Justin Jackson scored another 13 points. On the second side, 27 points and seven rebounds for Devin Bucker, 16 points for Dario Saric and six rebounds, with Cameron Paine and Cameron Johnson adding 15 points each. The Mavericks will play the first round of the elimination tournament against the Los Angeles Clippers. Written By LIVE TV First Published: 2nd May, 2020 11:45 IST Associated Press Television News COMMENTcenter_img SUBSCRIBE TO US NASCAR has put together a safety plan it believes will allow racing to resume. The stock car series plans to do it without spectators, tight social distancing regulations and only essential personnel.“We’re an outdoor sport, we do have drivers with helmets, we are in race cars,” said NASCAR executive Steve O’Donnell. “There are some unique things about our sport that we did feel like provided us the opportunity to get back if we could, where we knew we were going to be safe.”The series will not be testing for the new coronavirus and a test won’t be required to make the roster list to enter— Teams are asked to self monitor all employees who will be on their roster lists for five days before they arrive. They must also complete a questionnaire and will be temperature checked at the track. Cloth face masks will be required for everyone in the infield and the entire facility will be used for spacing, meanings one series will use all the garages and motorhomes will be spread throughout the infield.— Temperatures will be randomly taken throughout the event. Symptomatic patients will be removed and given medical attention if needed. Exiting after a race will be staggered, with more random temperature checks. Teams are being asked to disinfect as needed and haulers might be sealed to prevent them from being opened between shop and track.— Pit road crew members will wear a fireproof sock mask that will go from their nose to below the chin or they can wear a face screen from above the eyes to below the chin. Spotters will be spaced around the speedways.— NASCAR is asking teams and participants to contact trace and keep a log of people they have been in contact with. It will provide the ability to notify those needed to isolate for 14 days because they’d been in contact with someone who had tested positive. NASCAR said it was working on tracing software. ‘Desperate Housewives’ creator Marc Cherry adds voice to plead for leniency for Felicity Huffman‘Desperate Housewives’ creator Marc Cherry adds voice to plead for leniency for Felicity Huffman

first_imgABC/Image Group LA(BOSTON) — Dozens of friends and family members have lobbied the judge who holds the fate of Felicity Huffman in her hands, in hopes she’ll show leniency to the former Desperate Housewives star, who was indicted as part of the Varsity Blues college cheating scandal. Now, Us Weekly reports that Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry joined former star Eva Longoria and others with writing letters to District of Massachusetts Judge Indira Talwani on Huffman’s behalf. In his, Cherry reportedly relayed a story about Huffman’s caring treatment of an elderly co-star, saying Huffman demonstrated, “a master class on human compassion” in dealing with the woman, who was having trouble remembering her lines.Longoria apparently wrote her own note, remarking on Huffman’s kindness and support in dealing with a co-star who was bullying Longoria. It had already been revealed that Huffman’s husband William H. Macy, who was not charged in the cheating scandal, was also among the 27 people who wrote the judge on her behalf. The actress, who was arrested in March, pleaded guilty on May 13 to charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud, and she expressed “deep regret and shame” for attempting to illegally boost the test scores of Sophia, her eldest daughter. Her supporters hope she’ll receive, at maximum, the government’s recommended sentence of a month behind bars, plus probation, and a $20,000 fine.Copyright © 2019, ABC Radio. Artist’s obsession with Twinkies spans four decadesArtist’s obsession with Twinkies spans four decades

first_imgRENO, Nev.  | Long before Hostess Brands’ plan to shut down made Twinkies the rage, Nancy Peppin found something special about the cream-filled snack cakes. No, she doesn’t have a sweet tooth for them.Nancy Peppin’s “The Last Snack,” modeled after Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper,” is one of the dozens of pieces of art Nancy Peppin has created over the years using Twinkies and other Hostess products. (AP Photo)But she has featured Twinkies in hundreds of pieces of quirky, satirical artwork because of an obsession with what she calls the “ultimate American food icon.”The prolific Reno artist says she was first influenced to focus on Twinkies in 1975 by Andy Warhol, who demonstrated that even a Campbell’s soup can could be an object of art.“He showed you a new way of looking at a familiar object,” said Peppin, who has sold and exhibited her artwork. “That’s what I’m doing with Twinkies. I’m having people look at Twinkies in a brand new way and in an entertaining way.”Shortly after Hostess Brands Inc. announced plans to go out of business last year, Peppin was among those who joined the rush to stores to fill shopping carts with boxes of the spongy cakes. But unlike others, she didn’t buy 12 boxes with 10 Twinkies each to turn a profit on eBay or Craigslist.“I needed art supplies,” said Peppin, who uses Twinkies and their packaging to create some of her pieces. She also features renderings of the snack cakes in watercolor paintings, mixed media, prints and artwork. Her works include her “Twinkies in history series,” which portrays how scientists such as John James Audubon, Charles Darwin and Leonardo da Vinci would have sketched and written about Twinkies in journals or books.Peppin, an Oakland, Calif., native who earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1966, conducted extensive research to make the series seem as authentic as possible. Her Audubon series on the “North American Twinkie (twinkopus hostus)” includes illustrations of three “important subspecies — Cream-bellied Twinkie, Strawberry-throated Twinkie, Golden-backed Twinkie” — as well as writings describing the “birds” and explaining their migration patterns.“Twinkies radiate out from the spring St. Louis breeding area to the summer nesting habitats throughout the world. Populations are heaviest in the North American 7-11 meridian,” she wrote. St. Louis and 7-Eleven stores both share a long history with Hostess and its brands. She updated the Audubon series after Hostess shut down operations in November: “It went from being the most popular snack cake in the world to sudden extinction due to consumption by raptors — capitalist vultures (cathartes wallstreetidae). Her painting titled “The Last Snack” is a takeoff of da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” featuring Twinkies, Ding Dongs, Ho Hos and other Hostess products at a table with the same arrangement and background as da Vinci’s classic. Her parody of a “girly” calendar from an auto body shop features a partially undressed “Miss Twinkie” standing next to her Harley. The artwork reflects the offbeat sense of humor of a woman who by day creates special effects animation for Reno-based International Game Technology, one of the world’s largest slot machine makers.Steven High, executive director of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Fla., said he finds Peppin’s artwork — and use of Twinkies as a metaphor to explore various subjects — clever, humorous and imaginative.“In some ways, she takes this kind of silly item and treats it as a cultural artifact and imagines it as a subject of scientific studies,” he said. “She’s an excellent illustrator and the way she pulls these (works) together is amazing. They’re fascinating and draw you in, even though the subject matter is unusual.”Peppin foresees no end to her obsession. With many potential buyers lined up for Hostess brands, she says, Twinkies will survive into the future.Hostess is expected to announce a bidder for Twinkies and its other snack cakes this month. Other interested parties will be able to make competing offers once the top bid is announced.“It’ll become a mutation of the species, but it’ll perpetuate the species,” Peppin said. “There are all sorts of history applications that I haven’t exhausted like Twinkies being found in the ruins at Pompeii.”last_img read more

Gift Guide: Home products come with connectivityGift Guide: Home products come with connectivity

first_imgTo give you a feel for what that connectivity brings, here’s a closer look at a few “smart” products for the home. There are plenty more if you look around. As I tried these out, I kept thinking to myself whether these products really needed that connectivity. You’ll need to decide whether the benefits are worth the higher prices.THE SMART TOOTHBRUSH:I tested the Oral-B Pro 7000 SmartSeries electric toothbrush with Bluetooth connectivity. A free app that goes with it has a timer that tries to make sure you spend two minutes brushing — 30 seconds on each quadrant of your teeth. The app then reminds you to brush your tongue, floss and rinse with mouthwash. It sends me notifications when I haven’t been doing that consistently (oops!). The app also offers weekly and monthly charts on your brushing activities.I was skeptical when I started using this toothbrush. It relies a lot on self-reporting. Although the toothbrush will warn when you’re putting too much pressure on your teeth, it can’t tell whether you’re actually brushing your entire mouth. You can spend the entire two minutes on one area, even as the app tells you to move on. And flossing? I was pressed for time getting to my dentist appointment, so I told the app I flossed that morning — even though I didn’t.But after I switched back to a manual toothbrush, I found myself gradually reducing my brushing time. I also stopped flossing and doing all those other good things. The connected toothbrush won’t go beyond what you can do with a timer and self-discipline, but it proves useful when you lack both. The model I tested isn’t out in the U.S. until next month, likely for about $220. A cheaper model, the 5000, retails for $159 and does most of what the 7000 does, with the exception of an extra mode for tongue cleaning. Both are more expensive than the $65 to $100 retail prices for standard Oral-B electric toothbrushes. It’s possible for family members to share the device — with different brush heads, of course — but it’s cumbersome and not really designed for that.THE SMART KITCHEN:A Smart Optimal Brew edition of the Mr. Coffee coffeemaker lets you schedule brewing or start the machine remotely, such as when you’re still in bed or a few minutes from the front door. It won’t do the more annoying tasks of refilling the water and replacing the coffee grounds, though.I find it takes more work to unlock the phone, open the app and launch the brewing than to walk over to the coffeemaker. If I hit the brew button just before jumping in the shower, the coffee’s ready by the time I’m out. What would really make the coffeemaker smart is to observe when I shut the snooze on my phone alarm, as that’s when I’m ready to get up.I recognize that most people have bigger living spaces than I do. So if the coffeemaker is downstairs, it might be useful to start it remotely before the shower. But you can already do that with timers. To justify the smart coffeemaker, your sleeping patterns would need to be so unpredictable that you’d need to change that after you wake up.The device costs $250, or about $20 more than a comparable model without the smarts. That’s not a huge price difference for the benefit. The coffeemaker uses WeMo’s app from Belkin, which means the coffeemaker might one day coordinate with light switches, motion sensors and other WeMo-enabled products.Another such WeMo product is a $130 Crock-Pot slow cooker. It allows you to adjust cooking times and temperature remotely, if you’re running late from work, for instance. It’s more than twice the price of a regular Crock-Pot, so it’s a tougher sell than the coffeemaker. I feel uneasy about leaving a cooking appliance on all day, but the manufacturer points out that people do that with timers already, and the app lets you verify whether you remembered to turn it off. Both of these kitchen products feel first generation. They’ll need more functionality through software updates in the future.THE SMART SCALE:Although I wanted to call Withings’ Smart Body Analyzer dumb for telling me I gained 5 pounds, I verified that with a scale at my gym. Sigh.Once I got past that, I found it to be one of the more useful connected products. You have to stand on it for longer than a typical bathroom scale as it logs your weight, body fat, heart rate and air quality. That data will automatically transfer to an app — the same one used by other Withings’ products, including a fitness tracker. The app also takes advantage of Apple’s HealthKit system to sync with Apple’s Health app and data from rival vendors.Even without all that syncing, it’s great to be able to track your weight over time (the heart rate, not so much, as that changes depending on whether you just exercised). I’ve tried over the years to track my weight with a spreadsheet, but I keep forgetting (perhaps on purpose) after stepping off the scale.Up to eight people in a household can use the same scale. It will send readings to the right profile, based on a comparison with past weights. There’s an extra step if you’re similar in weight to someone else. The multi-sensor scale retails for $150. A version that does only weight goes for $100. Although you can get a regular scale for much less, connectivity makes sense here. Manufacturers need to give consumers a good reason for having that connectivity — and in this case, Withings does.Online:Toothbrush: NEW YORK  | Do you really need an app to tell you to brush and floss? It seems every household appliance is getting some smarts these days, meaning some connection to a phone app and the broader Internet. But then what?last_img read more
